Cobalt Green
A unique bright Cobalt Turquoise that leans a bit to the blues, around between 2.5B and 10BG, though it exceeds the chroma of our Munsell book. This paint has smooth flow. As a single-pigment PG50 it was the lightest in value at this particular hue that we have tried, and it is also exceptionally high chroma. We wondered what made it a higher in lightness than other cobalt turquoises we have tried as its reflectivity almost has a whiteness to it. It is higher in lightness than Vasari’s Cobalt Bright Turquoise and Williamsburg Cobalt Teal Bluish, which are sort of like darker versions of this color. Schmincke Norma’s Cobalt Turquoise could be said to be a bluer version of Winsor and Newton’s Cobalt Teal, which is greener. We would probably not recommend it for impasto. This color exceeds the gamut for a computer screen so it is difficult to portray accurately. It creates exceptionally high chroma tints.
Note from brand in German: Deckendes farbstarkes Türkis mit höchster Farbbrillanz.
