Mars Black
Blick Mars Black has a flowing, almost dripping consistency which aids in covering areas quickly. The viscosity of paint does not have a lot of body. However for thin applications this was easy to apply. This paint has very low tinting strength. For a flowing paint (if walnut oil is amenable) M. Graham’s Mars Black has high tinting strength. Blick Artist’s Oil Mars Black has a tiny bit of warmth to it compared to versions like Gamblin or M. Graham. However the difference is very slight. If a very warm version of Mars Black is wished for, Old Holland is the warmest version we have tried, however the paint is much more stiff.
