Dioxazine Violet (this pigment can be a deeper violet or a redder violet shade)
A bright royal purple that has a warmth in its masstone and predictably cools a bit in tints to yield a slightly bluer purple. The consistency is spreadable but short. One adjective that comes to mind is that the paint is a bit sticky so it may not be the favorite of painters who like extra smooth paints. In masstone it is ever so slightly warmer than a few other brands, however it is barely noticeable. It is high chroma when spread thinly. The paint lends itself to impasto but is not extreme.
Gamblin lists the color temperature as cool.
