Phthalo Green Oil Paint Comparison

We wondered how much brand mattered when it came to Phthalo Green (PG7), so we made a Phthalo Green Comparison. This pigment is sometimes called Phthalo Green Blue Shade.

There are slight differences between premium paints and some versions veered a bit bluer. However we did put a Lukas Studio paint in the lineup and the results were interesting (that is the slightly less saturated swatch in the foreground). A detailed review can be found here.

P.S. This is one of the areas where the screen/camera/monitor gamut just can't quite capture the notes of these greens.

These make some beautiful teals in mixes with Titanium White.
