Gamblin's Cobalt Violet

When we first opened the tube we weren't sure if this would be closer to Cobalt Violet Light, which is more of a red violet or a Cobalt Violet Deep, which is a deeper purple.

Gamblin's version was closer to deep-- though not as dark of a purple as some cobalt violet deep paints. What was also interesting is that cobalt violets vary in consistency, and while we don't know what Gamblin has added to the formula, this one coheres to itself.
