Years ago, we began to gather up the lost wisdom of the painters. In the painting world, you never know when you might come across a piece of knowledge that changes everything.

There was a lot that art school could not offer. Much of the needed knowledge for realistic painting was not taught.

So as I found it, I wrote it down by hand.

As oil painters, we need to understand material in order to make paintings that last, and patience is required in both learning materials as well as listening to the experiences of master painters. To find what we were looking for we had to look far and wide.

We believe that knowledge is collaborative, and we want to empower our fellow painters.

So we will soon be sharing parts of the knowledge we’ve gleaned over the years to Paint List.
