Pigment Description

This is a fairly broad name space, and unfortunately when historical palettes are discussed, a precise identification is lacking. Yellow lake is often transparent and fugitive. Sometimes Yellow Lake could refer to genuine Gamboge (NY24), extinct Indian Yellow (NY20), Quercitron, Buckthorn Berries or other yellow colorants.
