French Vine Black
Blue Black
Charcoal Black
Vine Black is a rarer carbon black than Lamp Black, which is still found in oil paints.

This variety is usually made from burning vegetable or organic matter and tends to be somewhat softened by impurities of various kinds. Monona Rossol's work on pigments mentions limits for total respirable dust (called PNOS) that are recommended, please consult her work for information.

The texture of Vine Black can be a bit gritty. Vine Black has more gentle tinting strength than other pigments in the color range.
