A note on availability for painters in the U.S.A.— at this writing, for colors not currently stocked by Jerry’s, Charvin informed us that these colors cannot be ordered directly from the Charvin store. For painters in other parts of the world, it might also be a good idea to contact Charvin before ordering directly. More information about this color can be found here: https://charvin-arts.com/gb/huiles-extra-fines-60-ml/2012-opaline-grey-60ml.html
This color is one of the more confusing in the line, as it seems that there is only an “Opaline Green” in their Super-Fine or Fine line. However in the Extra-Fine line, there is a color called Opaline Grey which looks very similar to Opaline Green. We are linking to the Extra-Fine Opaline Grey here. As a general note about Charvin’s oils: we did not categorize any Charvin paints as single pigment paints. It is very possible that in general with Charvin that there might be pigments included which are not listed. We reached out to Charvin and we were directed to their brochure. However the pigments listed in the brochure in a handful of cases seemed to not make sense (i.e. pastel colors which did not disclose white and only listed a high chroma pigment, or a green with only a yellow pigment listed). Given the lack of certainty about the composition of the pigments, we feel it’s safe to say we do not know the full pigment contents, whether a color is a single pigment, nor do we know whether their pastel blends contain zinc.
